NSAF 2019-20 Select Meet schedule starts with Ocean Breeze “Big3”
The first three meets of the 2019-20 NSAF Select Meet season have been announced: The Ocean Breeze Big 3 High School Series, consisting of three top 
invitationals from late December through late January at the Staten Island facility:
- The 5th Annual Ocean Breeze Holiday Festival, Mon., Dec. 30, 2019
- The 5th Annual Ocean Breeze Freedom Games, Sat., Jan. 4, 2020
- The 5th Annual Ocean Breeze Invitational, Sat.-Sun., Jan. 26-27, 2020
The last of these meets, the Ocean Breeze Invite, is a two-day meet with all boys events on Saturday and all girls events on Sunday. The second day has been touted by Milesplit.com as the largest girls-only meet in the nation.
“We are excited that the BIG3 Elite High School Series has gained NSAF Select Meet Status,” Lauren Primerano, Park Administrator said last month when the upcoming Ocean Breeze full season schedule was announced. “Each year we have watched these three meets grow and we are especially proud to host the largest one day event in the country, specifically for young female student-athletes.”

This is the second year these meets have been NSAF Select Meets. When the “BIG3” series of meets was announced prior to the 2018-19 season, Ocean Breeze officials explained the series was designed “with the athlete in mind” and “to prepare athletes when it is time to take to the larger stages.” Events in each meet are developed to allow maximum warm-up and time to prepare for each and every athlete competing for an optimal performance.
The full list of 2019-20 NSAF Select Meets for the indoor season will be announced a little later this fall, with the 2020 outdoor slate following.
