2013 Team NSAF for Caribbean Scholastic Invitational Announced

by Joy Kamani

Another exceptional group of young athletes has been selected to represent Team NSAF at this year's' 8th Annual Caribbean Scholastic Invitational (CSI) in Puerto Rico.

The meet, founded in a partnership between the NSSF and the Puerto Rican Foundation for the Development of the Sport of Athletics (FUPPDA) is slated for June 7-8 at the Roberto Clemente Sports Complex in Carolina, Puerto Rico (just outside of San Juan). The annual event continues to meet and exceed its original purpose which remains to provide exposure to international competition to US high school athletes who have demonstrated potential to one day represent this country.

Past Team NSAF athletes have included stand-outs such as Jessica Beard, Bianca Knight, Bridgette Owens-Mitchell, Johnny Dutch, Marquise Goodwin Wayne Davis, Kendell Williams, Jennifer Madu, Avione Allgood, Aldrich Bailey, Arman Hall, and Devin Field - all of whom have gone on to represent the US at the Olympics, World Indoor and Outdoor Championships, World Juniors, World Youth, Pan-American Games, etc.  We expect to see exceptional performances in the future from this year's team as well.

The team will be accompanied by a full staff of managers, coaches, and medical personnel. The meet is open to any high school athlete and draws athletes from several Caribbean nations. For more information please go to the CSI meet page.
